What is a direct cremation?
A direct cremation is a contemporary alternative to a traditional, full service funeral. It involves separating the cremation from an attended service. The cremation takes place without a ceremony or mourners at the crematorium.
Instead, friends and family can hold their own ceremony after the cremation has taken place, if they wish. This could be either a secular or a religious service. Although there is no coffin, it gives you the opportunity to say goodbye and to scatter the ashes from the direct cremation in your own special way.
